Meesho Strengthens Board with Key Appointments
E-commerce company Meesho has appointed four seasoned business leaders as new independent directors. Among them are Jubilant Bhartia Group founder Hari S. Bhartia, former JP Morgan Chairman Kalpana Morparia, PhonePe Chairman Rohit Bhagat, and Surojit Chatterjee, CEO of an SF-based AI firm. Meesho's leadership aims to bolster growth.
Softbank-backed e-commerce firm Meesho has announced the appointment of four seasoned business leaders as independent directors to its board. The new appointees include Hari S. Bhartia, founder of Jubilant Bhartia Group; Kalpana Morparia, former Chairman of JP Morgan for South and South East Asia; Rohit Bhagat, non-executive Chairman of the board at PhonePe; and Surojit Chatterjee, CEO of a San Francisco-based AI company.
Founder and CEO of Meesho, Vidit Aatrey, expressed his enthusiasm about the new additions, stating, 'As we embark on the next phase of growth, I am thrilled to announce the appointment of Surojit Chatterjee, Kalpana Morparia, Rohit Bhagat, and Hari S. Bhartia as independent directors.'
Meesho's board also comprises the company’s co-founders Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal; Ashutosh Sharma from Prosus Ventures; Mohit Bhatnagar from Peak XV Partners; Mukul Arora from Elevation Capital; and Sarthak Misra from SoftBank Investment Advisers. The company is optimistic that the diverse perspectives of the new board members will drive Meesho towards new milestones in the e-commerce sector.
