A Dhaka-bound IndiGo flight from Chennai was diverted to Kolkata following unrest and the closure of Dhaka airport, officials confirmed on Monday.
The flight, carrying 81 passengers, landed safely at Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport at 4.56pm and later returned to Chennai after refueling.
Due to the unrest and airport closure, Air India also canceled its scheduled flights to and from Dhaka. Airlines are offering a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges, ensuring passenger safety and support.
