Vedanta Ltd Reports 36.5% Rise in Q1 FY25 Profit Amid Robust Cost-Cutting Measures
Vedanta Ltd reported a 36.5% increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 3,606 crore for Q1 FY25, driven by advanced margins and cost reductions. Income reached Rs 36,698 crore, and the company is progressing with its demerger plan. A USD 270 million capex investment was approved for its oil and gas sector.
Mining conglomerate Vedanta Ltd on Tuesday reported a 36.5% increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 3,606 crore for the June quarter of FY25. This boost was driven by improved margins and substantial cost reductions across all operations.
In a statement, Vedanta revealed that the proposed demerger of its businesses is progressing well, with the demerger scheme already filed with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) following approval from secured creditors.
The company also announced that its board has approved a capital expenditure (capex) investment of USD 270 million in its oil and gas business to augment reserves and increase volumes through the drilling of new wells and enhanced oil recovery techniques.
