TVS Motor's domestic two-wheeler segment is expected to see continued growth this fiscal year, thanks to factors such as normal rainfall and an increase in rural demand, according to Chairman Ralf Speth.

Speaking at the company's annual general meeting (AGM), Speth announced plans to collaborate with BMW Motorrad on the design and development of new vehicles for global markets.

Speth emphasized India's advantageous position, thanks to its young and intelligent workforce, and its potential to benefit from major geopolitical, geoeconomic, environmental, and social shifts. He expressed confidence in India's ability to forge its own path and potentially surpass expectations.

He projected that the domestic two-wheeler industry will keep growing in FY25, spurred by positive economic indicators, including consistent rainfall and rising rural demand.

Speth also outlined TVS Motor's focus on electric vehicles (EVs) as a key enabler for future growth, aligning with the company's 2030 vision. The EV segment aims to address environmental concerns while meeting customer needs for energy-efficient transportation solutions.

To achieve its vision, TVS Motor plans to align technological advancements with strategic infrastructure development, supported by proactive collaboration between academia, industry, and government.

Regarding exports in the current fiscal year, Speth said that overseas shipments of two-wheelers are expected to gradually recover after a weak performance in FY24. He noted that Africa's market improvement will benefit from moderated inflation due to global monetary easing. Additionally, expansion programs in Latin America, ASEAN, and the Middle East are set to add momentum.

TVS is focusing on strengthening its international presence by expanding its distribution network globally. In FY24, TVS entered European markets through a distribution partnership. Speth confirmed that a variety of EV and internal combustion engine (ICE) products have been homologated and are ready for market entry.

Furthermore, in coordination with BMW Motorrad, TVS will work on designing and developing new vehicles for the global market, continuing their partnership established in April 2013, which focuses on manufacturing sub-500cc motorcycles.

Speth concluded that with a strong product lineup and a focus on consumer satisfaction, quality, and design, TVS Motor is confident about achieving its goals for FY25.
