NITI Aayog Backs Odisha's Vision for a Developed Future

NITI Aayog is supporting Odisha in creating vision documents for 2023 and 2047 with the aim of achieving a developed state status. Chief Minister Mohan Charan targets a $500 billion economy by 2036 and a $1.5 trillion economy by 2047. Public outreach programs and a steering committee will be formed.

In a significant development, the NITI Aayog has pledged to assist Odisha in drafting vision documents aimed at transforming the state by 2023 and 2047. This initiative underscores the state's aspirations to contribute robustly to India's growth trajectory.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan has ambitious targets: elevating Odisha to a $500 billion economy by 2036, coinciding with the state's centennial, and reaching a $1.5 trillion economy by 2047. The comprehensive roadmap for these targets will be finalized within three months.

The discussions, which took place between NITI Aayog CEO B V R Subrahmanyam and Chief Minister Charan, also led to the formation of a steering committee and plans for wide-ranging public outreach to gather input for the vision of 'Bikasita Odisha'. Further strategic actions will be mapped out, aligning with these visionary goals.
