Amazon India's Swift Disaster Relief Hubs in Action

Amazon India has established four disaster relief hubs across the country to deliver urgent relief materials within 72 hours. The hubs are strategically located in Maharashtra, Haryana, Telangana, and West Bengal to support communities affected by natural disasters. Amazon's efforts are in collaboration with non-profit partners, relief workers, and volunteers.

E-commerce giant Amazon India announced on Friday the establishment of four disaster relief hubs, including a temporary facility in West Bengal, aimed at delivering urgent relief materials within 72 hours. This initiative is part of Amazon's broader disaster management strategy.

The hubs are strategically located in Thane (Maharashtra), Faridabad (Haryana), Hyderabad (Telangana), and Purba Bardhaman (West Bengal), enabling quick mobilization of resources for disaster-hit communities. The locations were chosen to optimize network efficiency, according to Amazon India.

The move is in response to recent floods across various regions of India due to heavy rainfall. Anita Kumar, Head of Amazon Community Impact, India and APAC, highlighted that the company's extensive logistic network, warehousing expertise, and partnerships with non-profit organizations and volunteers are key to their disaster relief efforts. So far, Amazon delivered 10,890 shelter kits to over 10,000 families and committed 18,200 relief kits to affected areas.
