Delhi Traffic Advisory: Roads Closed for Independence Day Rehearsal

Delhi Traffic Police has announced a comprehensive advisory for road closures and alternative routes ahead of the full dress rehearsal on August 13 for the Independence Day function. Road closures will affect major routes including Netaji Subhash Marg, Lothian Road, and SP Mukherjee Marg, from 4 am to 11 am on Tuesday.

The advisory further outlines that vehicles without parking labels should steer clear of several areas, including C-Hexagon, India Gate, and Copernicus Marg. Commuters traveling between north and south Delhi are advised to use alternative routes such as Aurobindo Marg, Safdarjung Road, and Kamal Ataturk Marg to reach their destinations.

In addition, the east-west corridor will see traffic diverted via NH-24, Ring Road, and Mathura Road among others. Movement of goods vehicles will also be restricted between Nizamuddin and Wazirabad bridges from midnight on August 12 to 11 am on August 13. Inter-state and city buses will also face detours, as specified in the advisory.
