Chemicals maker Anupam Rasayan India Ltd saw a significant 76.63% drop in consolidated net profit, reporting Rs 12.21 crore for the first quarter of the current fiscal year, compared to Rs 52.2 crore the previous year, a regulatory filing revealed.

The company's revenue from operations decreased to Rs 254.19 crore for April-June 2024-25, down from Rs 386.39 crore during the same period last year. Despite lower expenses of Rs 244.04 crore against the previous Rs 321.46 crore, profits suffered.

Managing Director Anand Desai attributed the downturn to ongoing challenges in the agro-chemical industry but expressed optimism for a recovery in the second half of FY25 as the polymer and pharma segments ramp up.
