Delhi Airport's New T1 Terminal Set for August 17 Launch

Delhi airport's new T1 terminal will commence operations on August 17. IndiGo and SpiceJet will transfer part of their domestic flights to this terminal. The old T1 was closed in June due to a roof collapse. The new terminal is a part of DIAL's phase 3A expansion project.

Delhi airport operator DIAL has announced that the new T1 terminal will begin operations on August 17. Major airlines IndiGo and SpiceJet will transfer a significant portion of their domestic flights to this new terminal. This shift follows the suspension of operations at the old T1 in late June due to a roof collapse incident.

The new terminal is a significant component of the phase 3A expansion project developed by Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL). According to the plan, SpiceJet will move 13 flights to Terminal 1 beginning August 17, and IndiGo will shift 34 flights from Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 starting September 2.

Inaugurated in March, the new T1 will join the three-terminal system at Delhi airport, which includes T1, T2, and T3, enhancing the facility's capacity and operational efficiency.
