The disconnection occurred at approximately 8.50 am as the train, numbered 12932, arrived at Gothangam yard between Sayan and Surat railway station, stated a release by the Western Railway (WR).

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and the separated coaches were quickly re-attached. Restoration efforts commenced immediately following the incident, with Up trains operating via the loop line, according to Western Railway's updates on X. Vineet Abhishek, WR's Chief Public Relations Officer, confirmed that the event did not disrupt the movement of other trains on the route. By 11.22 am, the restoration was fully completed, and traffic on the UP main line resumed.

The Gothangam yard where the incident occurred is within the Western Railway's Vadodara division.
