An Akasa Air flight traveling from Varanasi to Mumbai made an emergency landing at Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal due to a medical emergency involving a passenger, an official reported.
Despite immediate assistance from the cabin crew and an on-board doctor, the passenger was declared dead after landing. The flight for Mumbai resumed around 6pm post mandatory inspections.
Authorities coordinated to ensure passenger comfort during the delay, and Air India was asked to provide refreshments as Akasa Air doesn't operate from the Bhopal airport. The emergency landing was executed at 11:40 am after the pilot reported the situation to Air Traffic Control.
