Travel booking platform EaseMyTrip.com announced on Thursday its foray into the electric bus manufacturing market through its subsidiary, Easy Green Mobility.
Easy Green Mobility will focus on manufacturing electric buses, with another subsidiary, YoloBus, acting as its operational arm. EaseMyTrip is investing Rs 200 crore in research and development, product development, and setting up manufacturing facilities over the next 2-3 years.
The company aims to capitalize on the burgeoning Indian electric bus market, projected to grow at a CAGR of 24% from 2024 to 2030. According to Co-Founder Rikant Pitti, the demand for electric buses in India could reach 1,25,000 to 1,50,000 units per year within a decade.
