Sean Chiao, Group CEO of Surbana Jurong, lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership during a business leaders' meeting held in Singapore. Chiao noted India's remarkable transformation into the world's fifth-largest economy under Modi's governance and called for greater collaboration between Indian and Singaporean firms.

Prime Minister Modi made an official visit to Singapore from September 4-5, 2024, marking his fifth trip to the city-state. During a roundtable on Thursday, Singaporean companies pledged investments worth Rs 5 lakh crore (approximately USD 60 billion) in various sectors.

At the event, Modi interacted with top Singaporean CEOs from sectors such as investment funds, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, sustainability, and logistics. The Prime Minister announced the establishment of an INVEST INDIA office in Singapore to bolster economic cooperation, furthering the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and Singapore.
