Massive Search Operation Launched for Missing Pilot off Gujarat Coast
A large-scale search operation is underway for a pilot who went missing after an advanced light helicopter crashed off the Gujarat coast on September 2. The Indian Navy and Coast Guard have deployed numerous ships and aircraft, including specialized equipment, to assist in the efforts. Two crew members were recovered deceased, while one was rescued.

Two Navy ships, equipped with specialized technology, and four Coast Guard vessels are currently conducting a search for a missing pilot following the crash of an advanced light helicopter (ALH) off the Gujarat coast. This incident occurred on September 2 during a rescue operation for an injured crew member of tanker Hari Leela.
The ALH had a four-member crew. One member was rescued, and two bodies have been recovered. However, the pilot remains missing. Search and rescue (SAR) efforts involving multiple Coast Guard vessels and specialized Navy ships continue in hopes of locating the pilot, according to sources in the Indian Coast Guard.
The Ministry of Defence has extended condolences to the families of the deceased crew members and assured that all possible measures are being taken to retrieve the missing pilot. Additionally, aircraft are assisting with the search in waters averaging 55 meters deep, where the injured crew member of the tanker was initially rescued.
