7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah Sees Massive State Participation with 1.37 Crore Activities

The Ministry of Women and Child Development reported that the 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah has seen 1.37 crore activities across 752 districts. The primary focus includes anemia, growth monitoring, and environmental sustainability with the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative led by various states and ministries.

In the wake of the 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah launch, a staggering 1.37 crore activities have been recorded from 752 districts across 35 States and Union Territories, according to the Ministry of Women and Child Development. The ministry announced on Saturday that top contributing states include Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.

The campaign, inaugurated on 31st August 2024 at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, concentrates on key themes like anemia, growth monitoring, complementary feeding, and the Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi initiative, supported by technological advancements for enhanced governance. Emphasis was also laid on environmental sustainability through the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative, which promotes plantation activities across all 13.95 lakh operational Anganwadi centers in the country.

As of Saturday, the ministry disclosed significant figures: over 39 lakh activities targeting anemia, 27 lakh on growth monitoring, nearly 20 lakh on complementary feeding, 18.5 lakh on the Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi initiative, and 8 lakh focused on environmental sustainability via 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam'. The initiative's technological component, aimed at better governance, saw over 10 lakh activities for effective implementation and monitoring through the Poshan Tracker ICT application. Moreover, key contributing ministries include the Ministry of Education with 1.38 lakh activities, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare with 1.17 lakh activities, the Ministry of Rural Development with 1.07 lakh activities, the Ministry of Ayush with 69 thousand activities, and the Ministry of Panchayati Raj with 64 lakh activities supporting various themes of Poshan Maah 2024.
