Rohan Pewekar Appointed as Managing Director of Pizza Hut in Indian Subcontinent

Yum! Brands has announced Rohan Pewekar as the new Managing Director of Pizza Hut for the Indian subcontinent. Based in Gurugram, Pewekar will lead operations in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. Pewekar, with 15 years of B2C experience, aims to drive the brand's growth amid a booming Indian food services market.

On Wednesday, Yum! Brands, a US-based quick-service restaurant company, introduced Rohan Pewekar as the new Managing Director for Pizza Hut in the Indian subcontinent.

Yum! Brands, known for their franchises like KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut, announced that Pewekar will operate from Gurugram. He will oversee Pizza Hut's activities in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, steering the brand's expansion in these regions.

An alumnus of IIM Calcutta and Wharton School, Pewekar has been crucial to Pizza Hut's growth over the past four years as Chief Strategy and Finance Officer. With nearly 15 years of expertise in B2C sectors, he brings a wealth of experience in finance and market strategies.

Pewekar's previous tenures include roles at Samsung Electronics India and Accenture Strategy Consulting. Commenting on his new role, Pewekar said, "The Indian Food Services industry is witnessing double-digit growth, and we are well-positioned to capitalize on this momentum." Currently, Pizza Hut operates nearly 900 outlets across over 200 cities in India with franchise partners Devyani International and Sapphire Foods India.
