Amid a heated debate in corporate India over high workplace stress, Zoho CEO Sridhar Vembu has warned that companies driving workers too hard will not sustain their pace. He advocates for a mindset change to build long-term, sustainable organizations.
In an interview with PTI, Vembu pointed to burnout, loneliness due to migration to big cities, long commutes, and stressful work conditions as contributing factors. He calls for a balanced approach to work-life and stresses that companies should diversify geographically.
Vembu also scrutinized big-tech companies, advocating for regulations to prevent digital monopolies, and praised India's Digital Public Infrastructure. He underlined that DPI is crucial in setting standards and fostering fair competition.
