Noel Tata, the half-brother of the late Ratan Tata, has been appointed Chairman of Tata Trusts, marking a new phase in his longstanding career with the Tata Group. For over 40 years, Noel Tata has steadily advanced within the group, renowned for its vast range from salt to software.
His leadership position follows the recent demise of Ratan Tata, who passed away due to age-related issues. Noel Tata now oversees the trusts, which consist of the Sir Ratan Tata Trust & Allied Trusts, and the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust & Allied Trusts, managing a controlling 66 percent stake in Tata Sons.
Noel Tata also serves on the board of several Tata companies, including Trent and Tata International Ltd. His leadership at Tata International saw the company grow from a USD 500 million turnover to over USD 3 billion. Educationally, Noel is a graduate of Sussex University and has completed the International Executive Programme from INSEAD.
