A tragic accident on the Ruma-Bhaunti flyover claimed the lives of four college students and their driver when their vehicle was crushed between two speeding trucks. The impact left the car in a mangled state, requiring rescuers to cut through the wreckage to retrieve the bodies, according to police reports.

The students, identified as Ayushi Patel, Garima Tripathi, Satish Kumar, and Prateek Singh, were traveling to Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology when the accident occurred. They had barely reached the Panki area when their car was caught between the trucks, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Rajesh Kumar Singh stated.

The truck drivers deserted the scene, leaving their vehicles behind. Authorities have since seized the trucks and sent the bodies of the deceased for post-mortem examination. The incident has cast a shadow of grief over the Fatehpur and Kanpur communities, where the students and the driver, Vijay Sahu, hailed from.
