The Railway Board has introduced new stream options—Traffic, Accounts, and Personnel—for officers entering the Indian Railway Management Services via the Civil Services Examination for the years 2022, 2023, and 2024.
This decision follows the recruitment changes enacted in 2019, which saw two batches already integrated into the new system, with a third batch in progress for 2024.
Reversing a previous pattern, the Railway Ministry's Gazette notification specifies that from 2025 onwards, recruitment will occur through both the Civil Services Exam and the Engineering Services Exam under the revised Recruitment Rules.
