The incident took place when the ICE train, carrying 291 passengers, collided with a truck loaded with rails. Fortunately, uninjured passengers were safely evacuated and transported via bus to a nearby station. Sadly, a 55-year-old passenger lost their life in the accident.
The crash resulted in the train plowing into the truck at a crossing, shattering windows in the front carriages, and scattering the truck's load around the scene. The driver of the truck is currently being questioned as investigations continue. By Wednesday morning, the affected railway track was partially reopened after the train was cleared.
