Commercial vehicle giant Ashok Leyland Ltd has posted a remarkable 34.63% surge in consolidated net profit, hitting Rs 819.67 crore for the third quarter ending December 31, 2024. This significant profit growth was mainly fueled by a strong sales performance, particularly in international markets.
Compared to the Rs 608.85 crore profit from the same period last year, this quarter is labeled as the company's most robust Q3 to date, setting both revenue and profit records. Revenue from operations jumped to Rs 11,995.21 crore, an increase from Rs 11,065.63 crore in the corresponding year-ago period.
Chairman Dheeraj Hinduja attributes the profitability to superior product performance and strong customer engagement. The company's export volumes also saw a substantial rise of 33%, indicative of strong international market growth. Looking ahead, Ashok Leyland is investing in battery electric and alternative fuel vehicles to bolster its technological leadership.
