Volvo's Bold Expansion: Revving Up in Hoskote
Volvo, the Swedish bus and truck giant, announced a significant investment of Rs 1,400 crore to expand its plant in Hoskote, Bengaluru. This expansion aims to enhance production capacity, create jobs, and further integrate India into the global supply chain.

Swedish automotive giant Volvo has unveiled plans to significantly expand its manufacturing operations in Hoskote, near Bengaluru, with a substantial investment of Rs 1,400 crore.
The announcement was made following a formal agreement in the presence of Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, during the Invest Karnataka-2025 event. Present at the signing were Minister for Large and Medium Industries M B Patil and industry executives.
The expansion is set to boost Volvo's production capacity from 3,000 to 20,000 buses and trucks annually. The company's CEO, Martin Lundstedt, highlighted the potential for job creation and emphasized Bengaluru's strategic importance as Volvo's fourth-largest international hub.
