Bihar's rural road infrastructure is poised for a significant upgrade following the state cabinet's approval of projects worth over Rs 17,000 crore. This decision, confirmed by Additional Chief Secretary S Siddharth, marks a major step forward in the state's bid to enhance connectivity.
The cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, gave the green light to 37 projects under the rural works division, covering all districts. The approved projects will see the construction and maintenance of 11,251 roads spanning a length of 19,876 km.
Particularly notable projects include those in Madhubani, Aurangabad, Gaya, and Muzaffarpur. Madhubani will witness the construction of 706 roads at a cost of Rs 1,221 crore, while Aurangabad will see the longest stretch with 1,252 km at Rs 1,125 crore. These projects are expected to significantly bolster rural connectivity and economic growth.
