The Delhi Metro has embarked on an innovative campaign aimed at fostering healthier lifestyle choices and environmental awareness among commuters. At five major stations, striking 'calorie counter' signages have been strategically installed near escalators and stairs, urging passengers to opt for a more active commute. A senior official disclosed these details on Friday.
The recently introduced signages have been placed at prominent stations including Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, Patel Chowk on the Yellow Line, and Barakhamba Road and Supreme Court on the Blue Line. They display calories burned per step taken, offering commuters a motivational glimpse into the health advantages linked with taking the stairs.
This initiative dovetails with the Ministry of Environment's 'LIFE' (Lifestyle for Environment) concept, aimed at promoting eco-friendly practices and fostering healthier habits. Through this effort, the Delhi Metro seeks to inspire commuters towards more sustainable and health-conscious travel choices.
