Railways Announce Compensation Following Tragic Stampede at New Delhi Station

The Indian Railways have announced a compensation package for the victims of a deadly stampede at New Delhi Railway Station that resulted in the death of 18 individuals. Compensation of Rs 10 lakh will be provided to the next of kin of the deceased, with varying sums for the injured.

The Indian Railways has stepped forward with a compensation package following the tragic stampede at New Delhi Railway Station. Announced on Sunday, families of the deceased will receive Rs 10 lakh each.

In addition to the compensation for the deceased, the railway authorities have allocated Rs 2.5 lakh for those seriously injured and Rs 1 lakh for individuals with minor injuries.

This unfortunate incident occurred late Saturday night amidst a crowd surge as passengers gathered to board trains for Prayagraj, related to the ongoing Maha Kumbh, on platforms 14 and 15 which led to the stampede.
