Inflation Relief for Rural Workers in Early 2025

Retail inflation for agricultural and rural workers in India showed signs of easing in January 2025. According to the latest government data, inflation rates dropped to 4.61% for agricultural workers and 4.73% for rural workers, a decrease from December's figures.
The All-India Consumer Price Index for Agricultural Labourers (CPI-AL) and Rural Labourers (CPI-RL) saw a decline in points for the month, reaching 1,316 and 1,328 points, respectively. This is a slight drop from December 2024 when the indices were measured at 1,320 and 1,331 points.
The statement also highlighted that the food index for both CPI-AL and CPI-RL decreased. For CPI-AL, the index moved from 1,262 points in December to 1,255 in January, while CPI-RL fell from 1,269 in December to 1,261 in January.
