This announcement was made during the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit, where Jindal acknowledged Assam's rapid development and JSW's commitment to contributing to its growth.
Recalling childhood visits to Tinsukia and stories from his grandfather about local legends, Jindal expressed a personal connection to Assam. He lauded the development in the region and emphasized the Northeast's strategic importance in India's economic expansion, driven by what he calls a 'double-engine government'.
Jindal highlighted infrastructure improvements, such as national highways and new logistics parks, as signs of progress and confirmed JSW Group’s interest in pursuing investment opportunities in Assam's cement and power sectors.
