Australia rolled out an ambitious plan on Wednesday to bolster trade and investment ties with India, placing focus on the economic potentials forged by India's booming economy. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese hailed the roadmap as a significant step towards shared future prosperity.
Identifying 'superhighways of growth' including clean energy and tourism, the roadmap envisions leveraging the significant trade opportunities sparked by India's rise. Albanese emphasized the complementary economic advancements of both nations, which could create job prospects and enhance supply chain security.
The strategic roadmap, developed after extensive consultations, highlights nearly 50 areas of opportunity for collaboration. Intent on immediately implementing the roadmap, Australia announced a USD 16 million investment to kickstart trade facilitation with India, positioning itself to capitalize on a burgeoning market.
