Trans-Arunachal Highway: Bridge to Progress in Northeastern India

The Union Minister of Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, announced on Wednesday that the Trans-Arunachal Highway is approaching completion. This infrastructure feat aims to connect all 26 district headquarters across Arunachal Pradesh, improving accessibility and spurring development throughout the state.

Rijiju made the announcement during the Nyokum Yullo festival of the Nyishi tribe in Boasimla, Kamle district. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar also graced the event. The minister emphasized that connecting district headquarters was crucial for regional growth and highlighted the Centre’s commitment to the state by sanctioning the Rs 42,000 crore Frontier Highway project.

Complementing the innovative Trans-Arunachal Highway, Rijiju described the Frontier Highway as a potential “game changer” for areas along the India-China border. He credited this landmark initiative to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, while Vice President Dhankhar's attendance marked a moment of pride, as national focus sharpens on Arunachal Pradesh's connectivity and cultural prominence.
