In a tragic incident at Sodepur railway station, two women were fatally struck by the Hatey Bazare Express train on Wednesday night.

According to a Government Railway Police official, the accident occurred around 10 pm when the women were crossing the tracks. One woman's body was found beside the tracks, while the other became ensnared in the engine's cowcatcher and was retrieved at the Naihati station.

Authorities have identified one of the victims as Koel Roy. The second woman's identity is yet to be confirmed as investigations continue.
