In a landmark move, the Assam government presented its 2025 budget, proposing the establishment of a satellite named ASSAMSAT. This initiative aims at enhancing data reliability for socio-economic projects, in collaboration with IN-SPACe, fostering private investments in the space sector.
Finance Minister Ajanta Neog, while unveiling the budget, articulated plans to integrate advanced technologies in agriculture, disaster management, and border security. The state government announced the formation of high-tech AI-powered agricultural hubs, boosting innovation and sustainability in selected villages.
Further boosting technological advancement, the government plans to establish Assam Tech Valley - a hub for AI and green innovation. Additionally, the budget outlines the ambition to transform Assam into an eastern gateway for startups, highlighted by a proposed SEZ focusing on emerging technologies.
