During the 8th Global AI Leadership Meet 2025 hosted by ASSOCHAM, industry figures assessed India's artificial intelligence prospects amid significant challenges. Manish Singhal from ASSOCHAM and Sandeep Dutta of Fractal articulated how strategic AI deployment could be transformative for the nation.
Singhal identified education, health, and agriculture as sectors where AI could have significant social impact, emphasizing the vital role of global partnerships, especially in semiconductors. 'India would have a semiconductor ecosystem,' he asserted, advocating for complementary global collaboration.
Dutta described AI's transformative global impact on economies and geopolitics, urging India to harness its vast talent and thriving startup landscape. However, he noted research gaps and stressed the urgency of boosting India's original AI research output and strengthening governmental and industrial partnerships.
