Bihar to Launch Ganga River Road Projects Amid Election Push

Bihar is set to embark on three major road projects along the Ganga River, estimated at Rs 17,000 crore, leveraging a hybrid annuity model to invigorate the state's economy and tourism. This major infrastructure initiative comes at a crucial time, as the state gears up for impending elections.

The projects, Digha-Sherpur-Bihta-Koilwar (35.65 km), Munger-Bariyarpur-Ghorghat-Sultanganj (42 km), and Sultanganj-Bhagalpur-Sabour (41.33 km), are expected to spur economic growth and tourist influx due to their scenic routes parallel to the river. The projects will be financed with 40% government and 60% private developer funding under the HAM model.

With the tender process completed and a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for October 4, the projects highlight Bihar's infrastructure strides under Nitish Kumar's leadership. As the Election Commission prepares to assess poll readiness in Bihar, these projects underscore the administration's commitment to development.
