Surge in Vehicle Registrations Fuels Maharashtra's Festive Spirit
Maharashtra saw a 7.37% rise in vehicle registrations during the Navratri and Dussehra period. New vehicle registrations totaled 1,15,125, with significant increases in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad areas. The GST rate cut spurred demand, although Mumbai's Metropolitan Region experienced a slight decline in vehicle registrations.

During the 10-day Navratri and Dussehra festivities, Maharashtra recorded a noticeable increase in vehicle registrations, with a total of 1,15,125 new registrations.
This 7.37% rise compared to the previous year was largely driven by the state's decision to cut GST rates, which made vehicles more affordable and spurred consumer demand.
Pune Regional Transport Office led the surge, while Mumbai's Metropolitan Region saw a modest decline. Traffic and pollution in Mumbai continue to be pressing concerns as the city's vehicle count surpassed 50 lakh earlier this year.
