The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has unveiled plans to set up an advanced automated testing station (ATS) at its Nand Nagari depot. This development aims to enhance vehicle safety checks and compliance with environmental standards.
The necessary infrastructure for this facility is already in place. The DTC has partnered with the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), Manesar, to handle the selection of a vendor through an e-tendering process. This partnership will ensure that the right supplier is selected for the supply, installation, commissioning, and operation of modern vehicle-testing equipment.
This facility will feature advanced technologies, including a number plate recognition system for seamless vehicle processing, interconnected inspection pits for smooth vehicle movements, and secure operational measures. The new testing station will be subject to audits every six months to maintain high standards.
