In a significant regulatory move, the aviation overseer DGCA has levied a Rs 20 lakh fine on IndiGo, citing breaches in instrument flight procedures at Udaipur airport.
InterGlobe Aviation, IndiGo's parent company, informed the BSE that the fine carries no material impact on their financial health or operational activities.
The penalty is linked to IndiGo's implementation of its own Standard Instrument Departure (SID) procedures, in place of those sanctioned by the Airport Authority of India, as dictated by Rule 133A of The Aircraft Rules, 1937.
