Ashoka Buildcon has been temporarily barred from participating in any ongoing or future bids by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for a duration of one month or until an expert committee concludes its investigation into a recent incident.
This decision follows a show-cause notice issued in connection with the construction of the six-lane Elevated Corridor from Aroor to Thuravoor Thekku on NH-66 in Kerala. The incident involved the fall of two precast PSC girders, with one tragically landing on a commercial vehicle and causing the driver’s death.
The company officially announced its suspension in a regulatory filing, indicating that the ban on bidding will remain effective until the investigation by the expert committee is completed.
