The International Cricket Council (ICC) Board has taken decisive action by suspending Cricket Canada from its membership due to severe breaches of its obligations. This decision was made during the ICC's recent Board meeting in Ahmedabad, where several governance reforms and innovations were also discussed.

Despite the suspension, Canadian players will still be eligible to participate in ICC events, and the ICC will provide Cricket Canada with controlled funding for national team programs. The reinstatement of Cricket Canada's membership will depend on its compliance with specified governance improvements.

Among the innovations announced, the ICC plans to trial the pink ball in Test matches and update playing conditions. The board also approved a revised schedule for the ICC Women's Champions Trophy and a new global qualifier for the ICC Men's T20 World Cups, showcasing its dedication to global cricket development.
