Telangana is setting a significant target to become a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has unveiled ambitious plans, highlighting the state's need for 1,39,310 MW of power to reach this economic milestone.

To achieve this goal, Telangana will require an annual economic growth rate of 13% and a 10% increase in power demand, resulting in an eight-fold rise in peak demand by 2047, according to Vikramarka. The state is preparing to expand its power capacity to 18,826 MW by 2025-26, growing to 1,39,310 MW by 2047.

The state government is focused on renewable energy, with plans to boost solar, wind, and hydel capacities. This effort aims to decrease reliance on fossil fuels, cut costs, and promote climate sustainability, indicating a robust strategy for attracting global investors.
