In a swift response to humanitarian needs, India's Operation Sagar Bandhu has delivered nearly 21 tonnes of critical aid to cyclone-affected Sri Lanka. The operation, initiated after Cyclone Ditwah's devastation, has witnessed the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Navy joining forces in a show of regional solidarity.
The Indian relief mission saw the deployment of two IAF transport aircraft, bringing essential supplies like tents, hygiene kits, and ready-to-eat food. The IL-76 and C-130J aircraft played pivotal roles, also carrying NDRF personnel and equipment for search and rescue operations amid the crisis.
As part of the ongoing efforts, more aid is on its way via the INS Sukanya. High-ranking officials have shared that India stands firm in its 'Neighbourhood First' policy, pledging continued support to the affected Sri Lankan communities during this challenging time.
