The railway ministry has announced the renaming of Seawoods-Darave station in Navi Mumbai to Seawood-Darave-Karave, as confirmed by officials on Monday. This decision recognizes both the local identity of the Seawoods residential society and the neighboring villages of Darave and Karave.

Facilitated by a request from the Maharashtra government, the renaming marks a significant change for the Harbour line station, which is a crucial link between Navi Mumbai and the main city. It reflects a commitment to honor local heritage while enhancing transportation networks.

Following the renaming, the station's code has been updated from SWDV to SWDK, according to a Central Railway spokesperson, indicating the ministry's responsive adaptation to local governmental requests.
