The well-known Seawoods-Darave station in Navi Mumbai has undergone a name transformation, now called Seawoods-Darave-Karave, officials reported on Monday. This update follows a formal request from the Government of Maharashtra.

The station, which forms a crucial part of the Harbour line linking Navi Mumbai to the greater metropolis, has been renamed to incorporate Seawoods, a neighboring residential society, along with the adjoining villages of Darave and Karave, according to officials.

A Central Railway release confirmed the change, explaining that, along with the updated name, all associated railway records, signage, announcements, and passenger information systems will reflect the new designation. The station code, previously SWDV, has been revised to SWDK, as noted by a spokesperson from Central Railway.
