Delhi is on the brink of modernizing its vehicle testing infrastructure with three new automated stations. Government officials have confirmed that two of these facilities, located in Burari and Nand Nagri, are scheduled to become operational by March next year.
The Nand Nagri station will be the first of its kind in Delhi, boasting an annual capacity to test 72,000 vehicles using a fully automated system without human intervention. It aims to deliver prompt and transparent vehicle fitness certifications.
While the groundwork for the Tehkhand station commenced last November, electrification efforts are projected to conclude within three months. Burari's existing centre is undergoing extensive upgrades, including advanced lanes and CCTV integrations, with an investment of Rs 11.27 crore.
