Tragic Collision on National Highway: Three Dead, Several Injured
In a tragic accident near Gondia district, Maharashtra, three passengers died and eight were critically injured when a private bus collided with a stationary truck. In a devastating road accident, a private bus traveling from Kawardha in Chhattisgarh to Chandrapur in Maharashtra collided with a stationary truck on National Highway-53, near Dhobisarad village, leading to the loss of three lives. Police reported the tragic incident that took place shortly after midnight.
The bus, operated by a private travel agency, was carrying 45 passengers when the driver failed to notice a parked truck due to poor visibility. The impact was severe, resulting in critical injuries for eight passengers, who have since been referred to Nagpur for advanced medical treatment.
Local authorities, alongside residents, responded swiftly. Police Inspector Pravin Dange and his team managed the emergency situation, using ambulances from nearby health centers to take the injured to hospitals. The truck had reportedly stopped after running out of fuel, leading to the deadly collision, said Assistant Police Inspector Mukesh Rathod.
