Interglobe Aviation, the parent company of IndiGo, announced the formation of a Crisis Management Group (CMG) in response to recent flight disruptions. The CMG is composed of top board members and is meeting regularly to tackle the crisis, according to a statement released on Sunday.
The company emphasized that its Board of Directors is doing everything possible to manage customer challenges and process passenger refunds. The response comes in the wake of notices served to IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers and COO Isidro Porqueras from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), demanding explanations within 24 hours over the disruptions.
A senior government official indicated that authorities would determine the appropriate action based on the findings of an inquiry committee. IndiGo's board is regularly updated by management on measures being taken to restore normal operations, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.
