In a strategic move to enhance commuter safety, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has kicked off a specialized awareness campaign focusing on the safe use of escalators across the Namo Bharat corridor.
Officials report that teams from both NCRTC and its operations partner, DB RRTS India, engaged directly with commuters at high-footfall stations like Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad, and Meerut South, as well as passengers on board, to impart essential escalator safety rules and promote responsible travel.
The initiative equally emphasized child safety, advising guardians on precautions such as holding children's hands and keeping them from escalator edges. Besides educational interactions, safety messages were displayed via posters and banners at station premises, while stringent security measures including CCTV surveillance and metal detectors are employed for comprehensive safety.
