Assam's Industrial Leap: Modi to Launch Namrup Ammonia-Urea Plant

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has confirmed preparations are underway for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Namrup on December 21. During the visit, Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for a major industrial project in the state.
The planned Rs 12,000 crore Ammonia-Urea Plant in Namrup is expected to be a significant boost to Assam's industrial sector and enhance Bharat's self-reliance in fertilizer production. Sarma highlighted the project's potential impact in a recent social media update.
According to the Chief Minister, the plant will have a production capacity of 12.7 lakh metric tonnes and is set to be completed within three and a half years. Prime Minister Modi's visit will also include the inauguration of a new terminal at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport and a public address in Guwahati.
