The foundation stone for the much-anticipated Kota-Bundi Greenfield Airport was laid in Rajasthan's Bundi district on Saturday, marking a significant development in the region's aviation infrastructure.
In a ceremonial event, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu graced the occasion, along with several state ministers. This project aims to significantly enhance regional connectivity with a capacity to handle around 1,000 passengers and includes a terminal building spanning 20,000 square metres.
Despite being initiated by the previous Congress government, the project had been delayed. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed optimism that construction would now advance swiftly following the ceremony.
