Prices of guar seed experienced a rise of Rs 49 to reach Rs 5,013 per quintal on Friday in the futures market, as speculators enlarged their stakes following a robust trend observed in the spot market.
On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the guar seed contracts set for January delivery saw an increase by Rs 49 or 0.98%, achieving a price of Rs 5,013 per quintal, supported by an open interest of 58,305 lots.
Market analysts attribute this price surge primarily to intensified speculative bets, a strong trend in spot market activities, and constrained supply from principal growing regions.
